I honestly don’t understand the hype around HiroNori Craft Ramen. This location in Tustin was one of the most disappointing ramen experiences I’ve had in a long time. First off, the pork was terrible — it was basically all fat with barely any actual meat. Every bite felt greasy and heavy, not rich or flavorful like good chashu should be. It completely ruined the bowl. On top of that, they sneak in a ridiculous 17% service charge on the bill for absolutely no reason. It was just me and my girlfriend dining in — nothing special, no large group — yet we’re forced to pay extra? That already left a bad taste before even finishing the meal. The flavor overall was underwhelming too. For a place that claims to specialize in ramen, I expected way more depth, but it just fell flat. And the service? Easily the worst part. Our server spent more time flirting with two girls nearby than actually checking on us. We had to wait longer than we should have for basic things, and it felt like we were completely ignored. Between the fatty pork, bland flavor, forced service charge, and inattentive service, this place is just not worth it. Definitely not coming back.

Thank you, Hiro Nori Craft Ramen, and Yelp OC, for hooking it up with some ramen. I went to the Tustin location. Love the vibe and the interior. The music was great. The noise level was great. The employees are great. They are so patient and explain the menu really well. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen that came with pork chashu, spinach, green onion, seaweed, bean sprouts, and half an egg. They also give you a side of garlic and house spicy sauce. The broth was amazing. I can drink for days!!! I love the flavor when I add the garlic. It was like a garlic paste. Would definitely get it again. The Chrispy Rice with Spicy Tuna came with spicy tuna, avocado, jalapeno, and eel sauce. It was so fresh. They used good quality tuna. I'd go back. I recommend it.

This spot is definitely on many people’s Irvine food bucket list, and the waitlist proves it. We came on a Saturday night with a party of 8 and ended up waiting about an hour and a half, but we joined the waitlist early so it wasn’t too bad. The restaurant itself is actually pretty small considering how popular it is, but that also helped the service stay fast and efficient. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen and everything tasted amazing, especially the pork. The broth was flavorful but lighter than expected, which I really enjoyed. Prices were reasonable too, making the overall experience even better. One thing I really appreciated was how accommodating the staff was. Our waiter allowed us to split the check by item instead of giving us one bill for all eight people, which made things so much easier. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely a place I’d come back to again!

We came in on a Tuesday around 6:30pm. No wait and we were seated quickly. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna. The ramen was decent. Pork belly had good texture and taste. If you want a darker and saltier broth then you might like the Shoyu Ramen. The Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna was a nice appetizer before the ramen. The texture of the rice wasn't hard and it added a nice crunch to the spicy tuna. The eel sauce was sopped up for sure.

I came here because the Costa Mesa location had a wait. Luckily this location had available seats. I had the spicy tuna crispy rice and the ramen. Both items were delicious. I like that HoriNori has spicy sauce and minced garlic on the side so you can adjust the ramen to your liking.
